Established in the ‘90s as a symbol of industrial resurgence in West Bengal, Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. or HPL was the first integrated petrochemicals complex situated in Haldia, 125 kms from Kolkata in West Bengal.
With a state-of-the-art naphtha cracker complex constructed in a record time of 36 months, HPL started production in the year 2000, during the turn of the millennium. Continuous drive for improvement and optimisation led to rapid growth of the company’s capacity, reaching 700 KTA from 420 KTA in a short time.
It was formed out of a joint venture between the Government of West Bengal, The Chatterjee Group, TATA Group and The Indian Oil Corporation in 1994. Commercial Production started in 2001. The factory complex is located 125 km from Kolkata, at Haldia, in the Purba Medinipur district of West Bengal, India.
HPL is one of the largest petrochemical companies in India with a total capacity equivalent to 7,00,000 TPA of ethylene. Process technologies for various manufacturing plants have been selected from internationally renowned vendors with an aim to produce world-class hyphenated products with excellent safety and environment considerations.
Haldia Riverside Estate Limited or better known as HREL is the residential complex for the employees of Haldia Petrochemicals Limited spread over around 200 acres beside the river Haldi and around 9 KM away from HPL Plant. The complex is located amidst lush green environment and consists of over 500 quarters. HREL also has 46 acres of lake that gives a mesmerizing picturesque of the surrounding flora.

Position Details:-

Post Name: Assistant Manager – Mechanical
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- Carrying out Shift Maintenance jobs
- Managing manpower & co-ordination with other departments
- Troubleshooting & maintenance activities during shift duty.
- Supervising Equipment overhauling.
- Preventive maintenance of Rotary Equipment
- Following & Execution of Engineering Best Practices.
Qualifications :
B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (Full Time / Regular).
Experience:
Around 3 – 4 years of post-qualification experience.
Knowledge:
- To have very good working knowledge in Mechanical Equipment like Pumps, Compressors, Exchangers, Pipes, Fittings, Valves, MOC.
- Must have experience on Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance of Equipment.
- SAP PM & MM Modules, Shift handling.
- To have knowledge on Piping, Fitting Metallurgies, Welding etc.

Post Name: Assistant Manager – Instrumentation
Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities :
- Ensure uninterrupted running of plant operations, by minimizing downtime of machine & equipment due to instrument and systems malfunction.
- Drive execution of CM, LLF and PM activities related to the Assigned Plant Area as per maintenance strategy.
- Ensure issuance and inspection of spares.
- Ensure critical spares availability related to Assigned Plant Area.
- Carry out daily job planning & execution, plant emergency handling and execution of in-house maintenance activities. Ensure ontime completion of SAP related activities, logbook entry, and documentation.
- Drive system health monitoring and execution of system related activities.
- Ensure reliability enhancement & obsolescence mitigation related to Assigned Plant Area.
- Responsible for work permit application and ensure safe and proper execution of job through discussion with permit issuer.
- Deliver toolbox talk and ensure TBT compliance for safe and smooth execution of the job.
- Ensure adherence to HPL HSEF policy and compliance to IMS norms. Lead activities for compliance to SIL levels (Assigned Plant Area of NCU).
- Ensure shift coverage and shift job handling as per requirement. Drive execution of Planned/Unplanned shutdown activities.
Qualifications :
B.E. / B.Tech. in instrumentation(Full Time / Regular).
Experience:
Around 3-6 years of post-qualification experience.
Knowledge:
- Instrumentation Maintenance
- HSE rules and practices
- SAP & MS Office
- Plant Emergency Management System.
